Introducing more fresh food into your diet and cutting down on saturated fat and salt, is now even easier with our great range of Heart healthy recipes. Whether it’s a light lunch or a delicious dessert, we’ve got the perfect recipe for you.
There are a number of things you can do to make your cooking even healthier:
- Use Becel instead of butter – you’ll be switching bad saturated fats for good polyunsaturated fats, omega 3 and 6, plus heart healthy vitamins
- Use fresh or dried herbs instead of salt when you’re cooking to add extra flavour
- Replace some meat in casseroles with beans, peas or lentils – they’re packed with fibre and low in fat
- Swap high fat cheeses such as cheddar, cream cheese and cheese spreads for lower fat versions such as cottage cheese, low fat soft cheese and reduced fat hard cheeses
- Try steaming, boiling or grilling instead of frying.
